Terms of Service
Effective date: [DATE] · Version 1.0
These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Valunto: the website at [https://valunto.com] and the Valunto mobile app (together, the "Service"). Please read them. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
1. Who we are
[LEGAL NAME OF THE PROVIDER][Tax ID / NIF / CNPJ][Postal address][Registry details, if a company]Email: [CONTACT EMAIL]2. What Valunto is
Valunto is a personal finance app for people whose money lives in more than one currency. You enter your assets, debts, transactions, budgets and goals by hand, alone or with your household, and Valunto keeps them organised and shows you totals, trends and projections across currencies.
Valunto is deliberately manual. It never connects to a bank, a card, a broker, an exchange or any other account of yours, and it never asks for their credentials. Whatever is in Valunto is there because you or a member of your household typed it.
3. Your account
Eligibility. You must be at least [18] years old.
One person, one account. Register with your own name and a working email address, and keep them up to date. You may not register on behalf of someone else, share your credentials, or let anyone else use your account.
Your password. Choose a strong password and keep it to yourself. You are responsible for everything done through your account until you tell us it has been compromised. You can see and end your active sessions from the security page at any time.
Email verification. We send a verification link when you register. An account that never verifies its email and is not in use is deleted automatically after 7 days.
Registration is on the website. The mobile app is for existing accounts; it does not create accounts and does not sell anything.
4. Households
You can create a household and invite others by email. Each person joins with a role, and the roles decide what they can see and change:
- Owner: manages the household, its members and their roles.
- Member: can see and edit the household's shared data.
- Viewer: can see shared data and cannot change it.
When you invite someone, you confirm that you may give us their email address. When you share records with a household, you accept that its members will see them according to their role. What each member can see is explained in the app; if you are not sure, do not share it.
Leaving or dissolving a household, and what happens to shared records when a member deletes their account, is explained in the app at the moment you do it.
5. Not financial advice
Valunto shows you numbers derived from what you enter: net worth, cash flow, budget balances, goal progress, projections, and the results of planning calculators (retirement, mortgage, debt payoff, inflation, and others). These are estimates for your own information. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and they are not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Before you make a decision that matters, check the numbers and, where appropriate, talk to a professional.
Exchange rates are indicative. We obtain them from public sources (the European Central Bank reference rates via Frankfurter and, for digital assets, CoinGecko), refresh them periodically, and show the date of each snapshot. They are not the rates a bank, exchange or broker would give you, and they must not be relied on for trading.
Accuracy is yours. Because everything is entered by hand, Valunto is only as accurate as what you enter. We do not check your figures.
6. Subscription and payment
[PRE-LAUNCH VERSION — use while there is no price:]
Valunto is currently available by invitation, at no charge, while we build it. We will tell you before any part of the Service becomes paid, and nothing you have entered will be lost when that happens.
[LAUNCH VERSION — complete when pricing is decided:]
What is paid. Valunto is a paid service. The price, the billing period and what the plan includes are shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Subscriptions are bought and managed on the website, never inside the mobile app.
What a subscription unlocks. The subscription unlocks the analysis: net worth, budgets, goals, cash flow and planning on the website. Recording transactions in the mobile app stays available to every account [that has paid at least once], even after the subscription lapses, so your ledger keeps growing.
Trial. [No free trial. / A free trial of N days, once per person; you will be charged only after it ends and only if you have entered a payment method.]
Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from the account settings; you keep the paid features until the period you have paid for ends.
Price changes. We will tell you at least [30] days before a price change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it applies.
Refunds and withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of subscribing without giving a reason. If you ask us to start the Service immediately and accept that you lose the right of withdrawal once it starts, we will say so clearly at checkout. If you are a consumer in Brazil, you may cancel within 7 days of subscribing and receive a full refund (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, art. 49). Outside those cases, [refund policy].
Payment provider. Payments are processed by [PAYMENT PROVIDER]; we do not store your card details.
7. Your data
Everything you enter belongs to you. You give us only the permission we need to store it, show it to you and to the household members you choose, process it for the features you use, and back it up. We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train anything. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
You can export your data at any time (CSV for transactions, JSON for everything) and delete it, in whole or just the financial part, from Settings.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We back up our systems, but exports are the only copy under your control.
8. Acceptable use
Use Valunto for its purpose: managing your own and your household's finances. Do not:
- use it for anything unlawful, or to store data you have no right to hold;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, scan or overload our systems;
- copy, resell, scrape or make the Service available to others as a service of your own;
- reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it regardless of this clause;
- send us content that is abusive or that infringes someone else's rights, including through support requests.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will warn you first.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep Valunto available and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove features, and we may take the Service down for maintenance. If we remove a feature you rely on, or discontinue the Service, we will tell you in advance and give you time to export your data.
10. Ending the agreement
By you. Delete your account from Settings at any time. Your data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.
By us. We may close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service. Except where you have broken the terms, we will tell you before we do and give you time to export.
Sections 5, 7, 11 and 12 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
11. Our responsibility
We provide Valunto with reasonable care and skill, and we are responsible for damage we cause deliberately or through gross negligence, and for anything the law does not allow us to exclude. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for:
- decisions you make based on the numbers Valunto shows you (see section 5);
- inaccurate data you or your household entered;
- loss of data you did not export, where the loss is not our fault;
- indirect losses, such as lost profits or savings;
- anything caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where the law allows us to cap our liability, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to it.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [Spain / Brazil]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.
If you have a problem, write to [CONTACT EMAIL] first. We will try to resolve it with you directly.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, for changes that affect your rights or how you use the Service, tell you by email or inside the app at least [30] days before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you can close your account before it applies. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new terms.
14. Other things
Language. These terms are published in English, Spanish and Portuguese. [The English version governs if the versions differ. / Each language version governs for users who accepted it in that language.]
Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
Severability. If part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
